When Erika and I were planning our Christmas gifts for 1998, we wanted to do something personal that our families and friends would enjoy on a daily basis. We decided to make our own herbed olive oil and vinegar. To make the gifts distinctive, we picked out a different pair of bottles for each recipient. After filling the bottles, the tops were corked, sealed with paraffin, and covered with a square of cloth and red ribbon. A personalized hang tag was attached to one of the bottles before the whole was gift-wrapped.
